Flying Zambo 03:49
Let's lay this out like the numbers that dot your wrists Can't fake the clout, the letters ain't worth the stress We're skating over the light in the sheen I'm kicking over all the rocks in the scene This is new to you Why can't you feel relief? (why can't you, why can't you?) It's too easy, it's too easy, it's too easy like the spark on a tv It's too easy, it's too easy, you're too easy, the movie never lies Static starts to break through, Static starts to break you, Static starts break through, It turns me inside out Pull the credits down Keep the comments away from my mouth Keep your voices down With two thumbs up, I'm waiting, I'm waiting It's too easy, it's too easy, it's too easy like the spark on a tv It's too easy, it's too easy, you're too easy, the movie never lies Static starts to break through, Static starts to break you, Static starts break through, It turns me inside out But the letters never die…

Blue Steel 03:39
we built our lives on a Northstar light (do you still know me, do you still know me?) a carousel of friendly conversations (do you still know me, do you still know me?) I wasn't made to be lost at sea caught in the net of how it ought to be summer nights alone in an empty scene 'cause inside, dreams last forever outside, you're still the one I need drifting alone back in time golden years, the silver in your dimes in your eyes were my currency so damn broke and the joke's on me inside, dreams last forever outside, you're still the one I need say please come on back to me I need you next to me I wanna turn you in I'm banking on your money honey inside, dreams last forever outside, you're still the one I need The First National Bank of...

Swimmer Girl 03:15
swimming in and out feels so good when you lap me I feel you coming over it's time to shine hiding your hair from the gazing eyes licking your lips as you dive, as you dive you're raising my pulse tonight swimming in and out feels so good when you lap me the race is on please don't ask why we're sharing the motions, we can't keep dry as life ticks on close your eyes, close your eyes it's easy when we close our eyes swimming in and out feels so good when you lap me we're just little fish in an empty pond waiting for the kids say goodbye at dawn leave your works in me I can barely breathe I can make you scream, I can make you scream I can make you scream feels so good when you love me it feels so good

Summer spies with wind blown highs A two door town with light disguise 'cause I believe that school boy beats can fit between The melodies we weave Patty I won't pretend You’re the noose around my neck Patty I won't pretend Can I slip out, can I slip out? Patty I won't pretend It's been this way too long Another summer come and gone I just wanted to belong We're living through these songs Don't you know why, don't you know why? Don’t bet the farm on me I'm just lying in your weeds Don't blame the tears on me Don't you know why, don't you know why? Patty I won't pretend You’re the noose around my neck Patty I won't pretend Can I slip out, can I slip out? Patty I won't pretend It's been this way too long Another summer come and gone Patty I won't pretend You’re the fire in my head Patty I won't pretend You kicked me out, you kicked me out Patty I won't pretend It's been this way too long Another summer come and gone Every story needs an end… Don't you know why?

Daddy Bear 03:43
Keep your hands to yourself It's so easy to mistreat history You’re a thorn in my side Just a drone to the hive One goal, hidden in the trees It's the sting of love that I missed It's too late I'm already up to my wrist With the buzz that keeps me coming back When the buzz buzz keeps me coming back I never meant to steal your honey 'cause it ain't worth the tears Too sweet to keep me running 'cause I'm your daddy bear The owl was right, it's an upward fight A hundred acres in my mind Small, Early, and Late All reasonable names The rabbit is the one to blame Can't keep my paws off you These hives all look the same I'm stuck on you You're stuck to me Together we'll make history I never meant to steal your honey 'cause it ain't worth the tears Too sweet to keep me running 'cause I'm your daddy bear

Ice Wharf 03:14
I was lost on a one way ticket to the house where the drugs are free and the lights are down you we're waiting on me but I was keeping it cool the ice breaks beneath and we're falling through I, I was getting bit by you and you, you we're feeling so brand new it's the season, the season for the Camden crew it's a snake bite black till you're blue we we're trippin' down Chalk Farm Road exchanging glances, feeling so alone neon lights pushing us to the bend we're leaving it all at The World's End I, I was getting bit by you and you, you we're feeling so brand new it's the season, the season for the Camden crew it's a snake bite black till you're blue losing time the Underground gets cold too late to make it all alone wading through the garbage in the street I saved it for you, you saved it for me I, I was getting bit by you and you, you we're feeling so brand new it's the season, the season for the Camden crew it's a snake bite black till you're blue

Aurora Lies 03:13
Leaving the suburbs for nights on the fringe We shovel the snow just to give us the edge Selling our bodies to unmarked cars This Motor City can make us a star Tell me what you want from me Show me that the best of days Won't end up behind me I'm inching closer further south Oil lamps are pouring out A third wave, look out Hold on (we were just having fun) Is this love on the run? Is our love on the run? (I don't need you now)

Work Drugs - Catalina Wine Mixer hurry up, it's getting late I hear him moving, unconscious masquerade kiss me twice before I leave the first for the islands, the second sets you free I don't wanna love you always (I love you more) it changes with the passing tide (I love you more) a love like this should stay buried (I love you more) a tourists smile in disguise (I love you more) party's over now you turn me inside out your wings clip the moments in the clouds here I am left in the sand tequila sunrise melting in my hand I don't wanna love you always (I love you more) it changes with the passing tide (I love you more) a love like this should stay buried (I love you more) a tourists smile in disguise (I love you more) I'll remember you when our seas lose the blue a city girl with dreams you paid to come loose you paid to come loose you paid to come loose you paid to come you lose, you lose, you lose

Whatever happened to Brotherly Love? It lost its name in the hands of a flash mob Now the streets ain't safe to walk on The cities bleeding green and red Just pack your bags real tight and pay for the best It's a heart-attack called lust the Vine Street layabout Posers occupy for a thrill But you can't fight a war with your hand inside the till It's a heart-attack called lust (who needs you) the Vine Street layabout Make this real (the Broad Street layabout)

about

Aurora Lies is Work Drugs first proper release. This album was written while taking the "scenic route" from the Keys to the Baja of Mexico by sailing around Cape Horn. Encountering rough seas, the S.S. Flying Zambo had to take shelter in the Drake Passage for a number of days. While enjoying some delicious Chilean wine, the Work Drugs crew wrote a number of songs to help fight home sickness. These are those songs...

Aurora Lies is available on November 7, 2011 via workdrugs.bandcamp.com and www.workdrugs.com Preorders available now!
